🕹ī¸ How to do GDC

How to attend GDC on an indie budget: badges, hotels, parties, and more!
How to do GDC with Matt Hackett (and yep that's a quick selfie I took with Harry Brewis!)

Hi game devs! It's time for another advice video that's really for me but also I make public to help my fellow devs (and sell books)!

This time it covers my trip to GDC 2024, where I recorded random footage and took notes about how to not screw it up next year. Might this help you? Yes, it might! Unless you're a conference speaker, or coming from another country, or any other infinite variables that might invalidate all of this advice.

Either way, enjoy! I spent like 2 whole days editing this monstrosity when I should have been making games. (Story of my life!)

The video covers:

  1. Preparing for GDC
  2. Getting a badge (or not)
  3. Lodging around GDC
  4. A tour of Moscone Center
  5. Navigating GDC parties
  6. General tips & advice
